Most social media sites make it pretty simple to set up a profile or business page. It’s in their best interests to simplify it, as their value goes up with every new user. However it was a bit of a reality check for me this week when revisited the basic set up process and created some social media properties from scratch for a mates new business. There’s a lot to know and remember to set them up properly. So I wanted to create a page that I can go back to next time with all the links and resources I need to streamline the process in future. So hopefully this page will provide you with everything you need to know to set up social media profiles for a business.
Simple but not easy
They may have made the process simple, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s easy to do. So I’ve created this page as a work in progress. I plan to add resources, links and tools here regularly to make it easier to set up and manage social media business profiles. If you’ve got any ideas or requests (or even just know about a really cool tool you’d like to share) please feel free to leave a comment below.
HOW TO Videos
One of the nice things about ‘HOW TO’ videos is that they have (usually) been specifically created to help make life easier. They are also a great way to visualise the kind of stuff you need to learn. There are already so many ‘HOW TO’ videos out there to demonstrate how to setup social media profiles for business that there really is no need for me to create more. So I have curated three great videos (& added some helpful links) here to help get you started.
Set-Up Facebook
Many people think that having a Facebook page is a social media strategy. It’s not, however for most businesses it is a fundamental starting point.
Set-Up Google+
In my opinion Google+ (or GooglePlus) is the most important social media profile for a business. Why? There are plenty of reasons that can be summed up in a single word: Google.
Set-Up Twitter
Twitter is an amazing resource for businesses. It can be used to network, prospect, provide customer service, learn about market opportunities and build brand loyalty. But not without a Twitter account. Here is how to get set up.
Work In Progress
The social media landscape and social media platforms platforms are constantly evolving. As they do I will endeavour to keep this page and it’s content up-to-date to help businesses take that first essential step. If you would like me to take care of the set-up process for your business please CLICK HERE. I am here to help. If you have found this post fun, helpful, interesting, or all of the above: Please share it. Thanks.
